Tripoli was established by Phoenicians as a marine market to
sell out the basic materials from the black Africa, and the role of this
city continued in the exchanging field between the north and south, it
expanded towards the south to cover some of African regions, These
markets played a very important religious and cultural role in teaching the Hadith
“prophetic tradition”, where the sellers sit on the terraces in the markets
and make a conversation often on the religious matters, and sometime they
ask sheikh about religious matters.
If you want to enter the
Libyan market you have to go through Tripoli's international fair gate
the meeting point of all business men around the world.
The General Board of Fairs is an institution
belonging to the Secretariat of the General Peoples Committee of
Economy, Commerce and Investment and oversees all of the Fairs in the
Great Jamahiriya which are headed by the Tripoli International Fair.
The International Tripoli Fair is the oldest
